Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group is close to securing a 20-hectare site in Macau, to build a US$3 billion casino complex.

The flamboyant British entrepreneur Richard Branson - whose business empire ranges from airlines to music and mobile phones, is close to acquiring the site in Macau. "We hope to get all the boxes ticked in the next couple of months and start developing the site soon afterwards," Sir Richard Branson said.

The paper said Branson had held talks with Macau's leader, Chief Executive Edmund Ho to try and confirm arrangements for the planned entertainment complex featuring three hotels and a casino, which could open as soon as 2010.


英資企業家布蘭森旗下的維珍集團, 擬買入20公頃土地計劃在澳門投資30億美元, 興建3間酒店及1間賭場。

布蘭森到訪澳門商討在澳開設娛樂消閒度假村。 據《金融時報》報道, 布蘭森在澳門期間曾與行政長官何厚鏵會面, 並談到撥地問題, 布蘭森希望爭取一兩個月內達成協議, 隨後即可動工興建, 酒店及賭場預期2010年落成。

The Sands Macao Hotel will be the second casino hotel opened by the Las Vegas Sands.

"We are now uniquely positioned in Macao to offer all the integrated amenities necessary as a destination to attract a diverse range of multi-night visitors," said Mark Brown, president of Sands Macao and the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel.

The new 24-story hotel is situated next to casino Sands Macao as it will adds 289 suites, seven restaurants, a 660-seat theater to the 800 table games and 1500 slot machines in the casino and a heated rooftop swimming pool .

作為澳門金沙發展計劃當中部分的澳門金沙酒店在9月28日開業, 樓高24層，有289間精套房. 酒店以現代化裝潢的套房設計，套房面積由600至千多平方呎不等及3間每間面積4500平方尺名為“威尼斯人”的總統套房. 預計在10月正式開幕

酒店設有酒吧, 7間頂級的環球美食餐廳、和娛樂場所, 包括一間澳門餐廳, 3間中國廣東式餐館和拉斯維加斯西扒屋。
